Jalapeños | Authentic Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Savannah

I'm visiting Savannah & Tybee from Spring, Texas which is just north of Houston, with my God-Daughter & her best friend, and mybest friend from high school. We are celebrating my God- Daughter graduating from high school. She loves Mexican, researched this place, saw the reviews and chose for us to eat here. It was a Friday night and the parking lot was full, good sign but they did have a small parking lot for a large restaurant. We were greeted immediately with smiling faces and accomodate for our needs with no problems, I have a service dog.

We sat down and within 1-2 minute, 2 aft the max we were brought chips & salsa. We asked for a cheese dip no jalapenos, large. I confirmed and asked there isn't any in the cheese do right "no wr have with and with out " As soon as she left 1-2 maybe minutes later or server greeted us. I did not catch his name but he was very curtious, very knowledgeable about the menu items but not add good with understanding things outside of the menu when trying to ask if they could make something a different way. He kept on our drinks with them staying full which is awesome and of huge importance to me. He checked on us often on whether we needed anything but not too much, if thay makes sense!

When our server brought us our large cheese dip for $7.00, I saw flakes in it. I asked again confirming there were no jalapenos he daid wellwe make it from scratch and we grind up some and add them in the beginning, but is not spicy. Me who has a stomach thay can hardly handle pepper looks away him like he had 10 heads and said this makes a huge difference cause I'm allergic and my best friend can't really easy it either. He did offer to take it back, which wr should have accepted because after tasting it my next friend couldn't eat much and the other two hardly ate much.

We all enjoyed our food I got the Potatoe Fajitas - Steak. I then asked for 2 floor tortillas and ate it that way, my BFF had steak nachos. We both had to have sheared cheese otherwise they use the same cheese from the dip and thay would not be good! My God-Daughter asked for a steak & chicken quesadilla and they brought her a very greasy chicken only, or steak only I'm not sure which one now, and it was sho greasy and tasted off she could only eat half. Our other friend enjoyed jet meal it was sho much she couldn't finish it, same as me I had a lot left over.

Overall, The food had its positives and negatives along with some hiccups along the way with one staff not knowing the menu properly and the positive wad from the waiter knowing the menus sho well. If i could give half stars i would say this is 3 1/2 maybe a 4 star. My problem was I went craving cheese dip and left craving it even...

The servers who served us stole money off of my debit card. Our bill was $147.77 including a $20.00 gratuity. We gave them $115.00 in cash and told them to put $83.00 on the debit card. Hector the manager quickly referred me to Jalapenos local corporate office. Gloria in HR never returned any of my calls I had to keep calling her. She defended the server by saying " she has been here for many years, she is a teacher and she would never do anything like that" and my response is she has been doing it for many years and now was finally caught!!

When I told Gloria that I told the server to put $83.00 on my debit card the server actually put $103.97 on my debit card and lied and said I told her to put the $103.97 on the card. Gloria said " well the server told me that you authorize $103.97" and I told Gloria that the server Alex is a liar. Once they pulled the receipt that I signed it shows I signed for $83.00.

All I HEARD FROM GLORIA IN HR, THE MANAGER HECTOR AND THE OWNER WERE CRICKETS!!!

No apology, no we will refund you some of your money or refund what she stole, nothing. Because they say the cashiers cash out their own customers.

We had already left them a $70.00 tip and for them to steal more from my card was wrong on so many levels. Our bill $147.77 with a $20.00 gratuity included. We gave them $115.00 in cash and $83.00 on my card a total of $198.00. So, the $147.77 from $198.00 is $50.23 tip plus $20.00 gratuity is $70.23. So why do you have to steal from me after I/we have left a generous tip???

I'm visiting from out of state and looking for some food in the neighboring hotel and Google gives me this restaurant so I decided to walk over there and I was seated very quickly the lady at the front was very nice sat down the server came to me and gave me some time to figure out the very extensive menu. There was a group of about 8 people sitting right behind me that were extremely loud laughing and yelling and I mean way over the top. So they got served their food and they shut up for a bit while they filled their faces. But immediately it started up I think even louder because I think now we've got more booze in. As I was eating my dinner another couple was seated behind me and within minutes they got up and left and handed the menu back to the lady at the front. There was no attempt at the manager or anybody to have them calm it down a little bit. I ate some of my food and just gave up because it was the most annoying dinner I think I've probably ever had or at least up the top there. In addition to that I don't think the food was really all that so I would never recommend this restaurant at least not this particular location I have not tried the other ones but I just can't believe how loud and obnoxious these people were and nobody...
